7863 - Remote Controlled Point Motor 12V

1980-1988
7 pieces

Tracks
from 8 years

The grey era came with a great number of track options and accessories. Most were released in 1980, including this set 7863.

A-Model

The grey era came with a single design for points (or railway switch), in which one single track branches off, and starts running parallel with, the main track. This design came in left (branching off to the left) and right (branching off to the right) versions.

For push-along and 4.5V train sets, LEGO offered a single set 7852 containing 2 manually controlled points. For 12V trains, the buyer had several options. LEGO offered top-range single right (7858) and left (7859) points with remote controllers. Alternatively, you could buy set 7856 that contained a left and a right manually controlled 12V points.

This set 7863 allowed you to upgrade a single manually controlled 12V points from set 7856 to a remote controlled points.

This set was available from 1980 all the way to the end of 1990.
